This year the Juana de Vega 2018 Interventions in the Landscape award aims to recognize the best single-family home , both new and renovated, that highlights the landscape in which it is inserted and that can favorably influence the types of housing that are built in Galicia. The author(s) of the project may be candidates for the award. Only projects carried out in Galicia, which were completed between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2017, will be admitted. The deadline for submitting proposals will be open until June 1, 2018 and the jury's decision will be announced in the last quarter of the year. The jury will be composed of: Gonzalo Byrne, architect. Teresa Táboas, architect. Rosario Sarmiento, graduate in geography and history, cultural manager and expert in collecting. Miguel Fernández Cid, graduate in geography and history and Galician art critic. Isabel Aguirre de Urcola, architect and director of the Galician Landscape School. Enrique Saéz Ponte, president of the Juana de Vega Foundation. Antonio Maroño Cal, Dean of COAG.
Fernando Agrasar Quiroga, Director of the ETS of Architecture at the UDC. The prize will have a financial prize of €6,000.00. In addition, the winners will receive an accreditation diploma. C _ Single-family homes Recognition of the best single-family home, both new and renovated, that can favorably influence the types of housing built in Galicia. This is the category that is eligible for the 2018 award. Assessment Within its freedom to make decisions, the jury must evaluate the following aspects in the projects submitted for the award: Category C — The capacity of the work to become a social reference that can favorably influence the types of housing that are built in Galicia. — The economy in the use of materials and their availability in the area to which the award is limited. — The integration of the home in its environment. — Incorporation of sustainability criteria. Periodicity The award will be announced annually during the first quarter of the year, dedicating each year to one of the three established award categories.
